I’m reading this novel right now. After reading The Line of Beauty this summer and now this, I’m really beginning to like Hollinghurst’s style. He’s often said to be Jamesian in style, which is a term that always confuses me because I normally like “Jamesian” writers more than I like reading James himself. Perhaps that’s something I’ll write on later.
Just graduated with my B.A. in English. Of course, that means about all I can do is blog and read. So, here you'll find things I find inspiring and bits of occasional writing. My blog title is a theft from Murakami's "Wind-Up Bird Chronicle." I'll post about that later, most likely.
